Take Root is a comprehensive virtual training program designed for people exploring farm business ownership and farmers in their first 1–5 years. This guided, step-by-step course helps participants build the confidence, clarity, and practical skills needed to launch or strengthen a farm enterprise.

What activities will participants complete?
This year, all participants will receive Whole Farm Management, the companion textbook used throughout the course, provided at no additional cost if they do not already own it.
Tuition & Accessibility:
Enrollment fee: $25 (non-refundable, put towards tuition cost)

- Worksheets and guided exercises that build each component of a farm business plan
- Readings from Whole Farm Management
- Group discussions for sharing experiences, problem-solving, and learning from diverse perspectives
- Reflection and planning activities during break weeks
- Final presentations to share your farm plan, receive feedback, and celebrate your progress
- Mentorships- Once Take Root is completed, we will be offering a Mentorship to the students
