camp mattersWe grow kids that can change the world in a place that is changing the world. Camp on our campus includes organic gardens and a small-scale livestock operation. Our facilities give us a chance to immerse kids ages 6-15 in what's possible - and, in the process, develop skills for 21st-century success.
Camp is an excellent place for kids to realize their abilities to solve problems, and engage with nature and adventure, becoming exactly the type of young leaders our communities need. |

CAMP ACTIVITIES Campers experience a real working farm while discovering connections between our land and the food we eat while they engage in daily activities such as feeding goats and chickens, refreshing water buckets, and collecting eggs. Campers earn their "green thumb" by pulling weeds, planting seedlings and turning the compost piles. Camp activities teach responsibility in a way that is satisfying and formative.
Campers spend the week with our combined team of passionate, experienced staff members. All counselors and educators have experience teaching, as well as expertise in the fields of agriculture and environmental sciences. PLay and independenceCampers enjoy group games, relay races, ice-cream making using ingredients from the farm, nature exploration, hiking across our 70+ acres, campfires, nature crafts & more! In no time, Campers become part of the working farm, forming deeper connections to the land, animals, food, and each other.
Studies show that time in microbe-rich dirt can actually improve your health, and time spent outdoors can lead to better academic performance! |
AccommodationsOvernight Camp is based at the Lodge, which offers bunk-style lodging. Boys’ and girls’ dorms are on different floors with corresponding bathrooms and showers. The Lodge features bright, open indoor space for gathering and dining, a large deck and patio for communal meals al fresco, and a cozy den downstairs for reading, games and rainy day activities.
Day Campers meet at the Gathering Space, and all campers roam and explore on acres of outdoor space and hiking trails, swing in the hammock garden, walk the labyrinth maze (built by past camp groups!), toast marshmallows over the firepit and splash in the creek! meals and nutritionFood is an integral part of farm camp at Farmers Rising. Camp Chef Andy will prepare fresh, healthy meals for campers from local sources in the Lodge's fully-certified commercial kitchen. Quotes from Camper Parents:
The staff was so loving & encouraging! They even remembered my daughter from camp 2 years ago. It made her feel such a part of the farm!!!
This was the BEST. I wish we could send her to all of the weeks. She thrived at this camp and came home with a head full of new knowledge and ideas! THANK YOU!!!
My son loves the animals and respects what happens on the farm. He enjoyed the work as much as the fun….This is an awesome experience for him and he loves returning each year.
Can't say enough about how much my daughter enjoyed the camp. I'd highly (and already have) recommended it to others.
My daughter was nervous about camp but ended up loving it. She definitely came back more aware about healthy eating.
Every person my daughter and I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My daughter was immediately comfortable with every staff member and quickly bonded with the bunk counselor. I appreciate the sense of humor of the staff members and responsibility placed on the kids.
