farmers rising rockfordFarmers Rising Rockford is a diversified fruit and vegetable farm located within Blackhawk Courts, a Rockford Housing Authority community.
At Farmers Rising Rockford, we grow over 40 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs, and our farm products are made available to the greater Rockford community via Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares and monthly farm stands. We also provide our neighbors and friends in Blackhawk Courts with access to fresh organic food via donated CSA shares and dedicated community garden beds. Farmers Rising Rockford offers a wide variety of educational opportunities to the residents of Blackhawk Courts, and underserved middle and high school youth in the greater Rockford region. We regularly welcome volunteer groups to the Farm to learn about our programming and impact in the community, and provide us a helping hand. In 2025, Farmers Rising Rockford will begin offering Urban Farm Incubator services with the goal of fostering a vibrant urban farming community in Rockford, IL, focused primarily on diversified vegetable production on vacant, publicly-owned lots and/or personal property. |
